Mr. Segsarn Trai-ukos, Country Director of Michelin Siam and Member to the Board of the Thai-European Business Association (TEBA), was at a panel discussion on ‘ASEAN’s New Challenge: Creating a Balance between Investment and Sustainability’ at an international conference on “ASEAN Investment Policy Towards Sustainable Development Workshop” hosted by the International Institute for Trade and Development (ITD) of Thailand and the Fiscal Policy Research Institute Foundation (FPRI) of Thailand on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Novotel Bangkok Siam Square.

The panel discussion led by Dr. Narongchai Akrasanee, Honorary Advisor of the FPRI, Former Minister of Energy and Former Minister of Commerce, and joined by Mr. Yasushi Negishi, Country Director of Thailand Resident Mission, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Dr. Kirida Bhaopichitr, Research Director for International Research and Advisory Service, Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI) and Mr. Philipp DuPuis, Delegation of the European Union to Thailand.

Mr. Segsarn shared his views on challenges and opportunities faced by the European private sector, which has invested in ASEAN countries, and gave recommendations on policy improvements that are required to achieve the region’s investment attractions. He also discussed practices of investors that can help to support long-term development goals of ASEAN.
